About the Role
M2P Fintech is looking for a Financial Controller to own the day-to-day and month-to-month financial engine of the group — the accuracy of the books, the movement of cash, and the health of working capital. The focus is on actuals controls, liquidity, compliance, and the operational rigour that keeps a fast-scaling, regulated fintech financially sound.
Success looks like clean books, an audit that closes without surprises, cash that is always visible and optimally deployed, and working capital that funds growth rather than constraining it.
This is a chance to own the financial backbone of a company that is redefining how the world builds financial products — at the exact stage where controllership, treasury, and working-capital rigour make the difference between scaling well and scaling painfully. You will build the systems, controls, and cash discipline that a soon-to-be-public, global fintech runs on.
What Will You Do in this Role
Financial Controllership & Accounting Operations
· Own the integrity of the general ledger and the group's books of account across all legal entities, in compliance with Ind AS.
· Run a fast, reliable month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close with clear ownership of reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and cut-offs.
· Manage accounting for a platform business — revenue recognition across SaaS subscriptions, platform and transaction fees, and interchange/settlement-linked income, including deferred and unbilled revenue.
· Consolidate financials across a multi-entity, multi-geography group (including acquired entities), managing inter-company transactions, eliminations, and alignment of accounting policies.
· Standardise and document the chart of accounts, accounting policies, and close calendar so the function scales cleanly as the group grows.
Treasury & Cash Management
· Own group-wide cash and liquidity — a live view of positions across all entities, banks, and currencies, ensuring cash is safe, visible, and productively deployed.
· Manage the operational treasury of a regulated payments business: nodal, escrow, and settlement account structures, segregation and safeguarding of client and merchant settlement funds, and float management in line with regulatory expectations.
· Own daily settlement and interchange cash flows tied to card networks and bank partners, ensuring funding, reconciliation, and timely settlement.
· Manage banking relationships across partner and operating banks — account structures, mandates, transaction banking, and service levels.
· Run multi-currency treasury across India, MENA, SEA, and US — currency positioning, cross-border funding of entities, and FX risk management within FEMA and applicable cross-border regulations.
· Manage surplus deployment and cash-runway visibility, alongside debt servicing, covenant compliance, and lender reporting for existing facilities (including venture / structured debt).
Working Capital Management
· Own the group's working-capital cycle end to end — receivables, payables, and the cash conversion cycle — and drive continuous improvement in each.
· Manage receivables from bank, NBFC, fintech, and enterprise clients: billing accuracy, collections discipline, DSO reduction, ageing control, and resolution of disputes and unapplied receipts.
· Manage vendor and partner payables — including bank sponsorship fees, card-network charges, cloud and infrastructure costs — optimising DPO without straining critical relationships.
· Own working-capital reporting on actuals: DSO, DPO, ageing, collections performance, and cash locked in the cycle, with clear escalation of risks.
· Partner with Revenue Operations, Delivery, and Business teams to unblock collections and tighten the order-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycles.
Statutory, Tax & Regulatory Compliance
· Ensure timely, accurate statutory compliance across all entities — direct and indirect tax (GST, TDS, corporate tax), ROC/MCA filings, and jurisdiction-specific obligations for overseas entities.
· Manage regulatory compliance relevant to a payments and lending-infrastructure business, including RBI/PPI-linked requirements, escrow/nodal norms, and FEMA obligations on cross-border flows, in coordination with Legal and Compliance.
· Own transfer-pricing operations and documentation across the group's inter-company arrangements.
· Serve as the finance owner for all statutory, tax, and regulatory audits and assessments.
Audit, Controls & IPO Readiness
· Own the statutory audit process end to end and drive a clean, on-time close with auditors.
· Design, implement, and maintain a strong internal-control environment over financial reporting, treasury, and the cash cycle — maker-checker controls, delegation of authority, and segregation of duties.
· Strengthen controls, documentation, and process discipline to institutional / IPO-ready standards.
· Continuously improve finance systems, automation, and reconciliation tooling to reduce manual effort and control risk as transaction volumes scale.
What You’ll Need to be Successful in this Role
· Chartered Accountant (CA) — with strong controllership grounding.
· 12–14 years of progressive experience in controllership, treasury, and working-capital management, with meaningful time owning the close and the cash cycle.
· Fintech / payments / software experience — comfort with settlement flows, nodal/escrow structures, interchange, and float is a strong advantage.
· Ind AS, statutory audit, and multi-entity consolidation — hands-on command.
· Multi-currency treasury and cross-border / FEMA operations across group entities.
· Direct and indirect taxation and regulatory compliance in a regulated financial-services environment.
· Proven ability to bring structure to high-volume, fast-moving finance operations, and to build controls and process where they are still maturing.
· Systems fluency — ERP (NetSuite / SAP / Oracle / Zoho), advanced Excel, and reconciliation / treasury tooling.
Nice to Have:
· M&A integration — bringing acquired entities onto common policies, systems, and controls.
· IPO / institutional diligence preparation experience.
· Lender and covenant reporting for debt facilities.
· Cross-geography exposure — India, MENA, SEA, or US entities.
Perks and Benefits
· Inclusive and People-First Culture.
· Health & Wellness Programs.
· Comprehensive Medical Insurance.
· Recognition Programs.
· Performance-based ESOPs.
· Learning Opportunities.
