About the Team
This role will be part of a 40+ person sales team responsible for the commercial growth of GSMA Limited; who sell across the flagship event, MWC Barcelona as well as our wider MWC series in Shanghai, Las Vegas and Kigali and our M360 series in LATAM, MENA and APAC. The team spans offices in Europe, Asia and the Americas with a collaborative, supportive and vibrant atmosphere.
About the Role
You will cover the role of a long-standing and highly-successful Spanish-speaking member of the team and inherit a portfolio of global and Spanish key accounts, as well as mid-market and small companies and organisations.
They will be exhibitors and sponsors of our flagship event MWC Barcelona that you will support and serve as their account manager and nurture to grow and invest in additional campaigns.
Alongside this portfolio, you will also source new clients to meet an ambitious sales target.
You will use a mix of communication platforms and new business tools to source and manage clients and sell high-value sponsorships, advertising and promotional tools alongside physical exhibition, hospitality and meeting spaces. You will attend global and local trade shows and ultimately succeed in an intense rebooking process at MWC Barcelona to kick off the following sales cycle.
About You
You will be a proven and highly competent B2B sales person with a track record of independently sourcing and developing new business to hit ambitious sales targets, alongside managing complex and high-value accounts and nurturing growth in a portfolio of clients.
You will have experience within large B2B exhibitions and conferences, selling physical space, wide-ranging sponsorships, digital campaigns, advertising or award programmes but similar transferable experiences will be considered.
We want to work with a confident and articulate team member who is passionate about their work and driven to deliver results. This is a senior role within the sales team and one which requires the successful applicant to demonstrate their credibility, initiative and ability to the rest of the team in what is a group of experienced and dedicated over-achievers.
Capabilities:
Account management of varied clients from startups to the world’s largest brands
Skills in new business sales generation, including using tools such as Linkedin Sales Navigator
Working proficiency in Spanish ideal but not compulsory
Competency in producing detailed written proposals and pitching complicated deals at C- level
Experience working with clients of different languages and cultures across time zones
Familiarity with CRM software such as Salesforce and accurate pipelining, contracting and reporting
Independently managing your workload between account management and new business development
Proactivity in working cross-departmentally to help your clients succeed and maximise your resources in converting deals
