About the Team

This role is part of the broader External Affairs team, in GSMA’s Advocacy Department. We act on behalf of the mobile industry to maximize its impact on economies and societies through global initiatives. The Capacity Building team was established in 2014 as a response to ever increasing training needs from the regulatory community across the exceptionally fast-paced mobile sector. We have since built a world-leading professional training programme that delivers courses on pressing Mobile Policy topics to policymakers and regulators across the globe. The programme fosters a positive and collaborative environment for industry regulators and our internal programmes across Technology, Advocacy and Mobile for Development.

The Capacity Building Programme not only addresses knowledge gaps, but works to enable effective policy decisions that promote growth and innovation for the benefit of digital citizens globally. The team is home to a dynamic mix of talents that work across the organization to develop content and engage influencers throughout the industry to deliver our programme via a mix of platforms.

About the Role

You will manage the online and virtual training delivery across the programme, involving extensive liaison with internal subject matter experts and key external stakeholders to schedule appropriate resources and ensure requirements are met.
You will prepare, build, and update online courses on the GSMA learning platform, ensuring all specified elements are in place, and manage the helpdesk for any participant technical issues.
You will lead the Train the Trainer programme, to ensure relevant GSMA staff have been trained to deliver Capacity Building courses, developing, and reviewing the programme to ensure best practice.
Working closely with the Senior Director and subject matter experts, you will monitor progress and measure impact, by establishing robust methodologies and undertaking research including conducting interviews, drafting case studies and running surveys.
You will manage the collation of participant feedback and develop corresponding insights for all courses, reporting progress toward agreed KPIs for the internal leadership team.
You will collaborate with subject matter experts to set out priority markets for delivery and use internal monitoring and evaluation trackers to report course coverage in those markets.
You will contribute the development of strategic activities to drive demand and increase scale and impact for the extensive programme of capacity building courses, working alongside marketing and regional teams to drive this forward.
You will lead the course moderation of online and virtual programme delivery and chat sessions, liaising with course leaders and participants to create an engaging learning environment.
You will collaborate with high level external partners to deliver GSMA training on their external platforms.
You will support the Senior Partnerships Director on developing and maintaining working relationships with key Capacity Building stakeholders.
You will be required to support Capacity Building promotional activities at various internal and external events throughout the year, recruiting participants and partners alike.
You will, on occasion, be required to travel internationally to manage the delivery of face-to-face courses onsite and ensure all essential training delivery criteria have been met.
You will develop copy for internal and external newsletters, including blogs, social media posts, case studies and student interviews.

About You

You will have a background in training or project delivery with experience of event management, including developing and implementing methodologies to monitor progress and measure impact.
You will demonstrate exceptional organisation skills and diligence.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating an ability to prioritise and manage multiple activities and deadlines.
You will have a record of communicating professionally with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, across a variety of diverse cultures and levels of seniority.
You will be creative and innovative in leading best practice in sustainable programme delivery.
Your written and verbal communication will be excellent, and you will be confident in publicly speaking to large diverse audiences.
You will be well-versed in reporting key statistics and insights back to the internal team, including senior management.
You will demonstrate a notable record of stakeholder management, where you have achieved and retained tangibly valuable internal or external engagement in projects and / or programmes.
You have a proven ability to work in a highly productive environment, with the confidence to take initiative, and manage your own time effectively.
You will be available and willing to travel internationally as required.
