What the hiring manager says
“We have an exciting opportunity for a high-performing Production Manager for our production across GSMA Ltd events. For me, the ideal candidate will have high level production – and technical - knowledge and demonstrable experience of content producing events at a global scale, as well as great project and stakeholder management skills.”
Georgia Mould, Executive Producer
About the team
The Production team has evolved from a small, delivery-focused unit into a strategic function that now shapes stage design, technical innovation, and operational integration across multiple global events. Our team is small but growing in our high standard and capability, with clear specialisms in show production, content delivery, and technical design. A candidate should be excited to join at this point of growth, as they will have real scope to shape processes, lead high-profile projects, and develop their career within a team that values trust, autonomy, and strategic impact.
About the role
You will be driving forward our Global (AV) Production with a key overview of the AV production & design approach, identifying ways to approach AV production differently within the content strategy as well as opportunities for cost and resource efficiencies.
The focus will be on our 4 MWC events, and any other ad-hoc events. AV Production is one of our largest cost drivers and is a very tangible deliverable which is on the radar of our Leadership Team.
You will take the lead in planning, monitoring, and controlling production deliverables and costs throughout the entire project lifecycle, using best production practices across all GSMA Ltd events, ensuring the right solution for the business at the right cost.
Depending on your recommended approach, you may also be involved in the actual hands-on production delivery of our conferences, Partner programs, summit session and other events, or you may be involved at a supervisory / monitoring capacity. You will work very closely with the regional delivery teams to ensure that the production is delivered successfully on time and on budget.
You will also be responsible for engaging external and internal stakeholders in the project, including our internal marketing teams who are responsible for defining our event brands and overseeing their application.
Responsibilities are but not limited to:
• Create and deliver AV production and technical briefs
• Define production milestones across all events
• Support agenda planning structure and timing
• Manage show run orders with internal stakeholders, ensuring templates capture all required information for show crews
• Oversee speaker content management and technical specifications with production teams
• Oversee speaker communications relating to AV production, technical requirements, and demos
• Develop and manage rehearsal schedules
• Own technical procedures and process management
• Oversee AV suppliers and vendor relationships
• Ensure onsite delivery aligns with technical plans, equipment specifications, and budgets
• Lead contingency planning
• AV budget management
• Develop production schedules, including pre-event and onsite setup
• Oversee stage design and onscreen digital assets
• Manage and review AV master floorplans
This is a newly created role identified as core to achieving greater efficiencies across the organisation. We are excited about the opportunities this position will unlock and the expertise it will bring to the team.
About You
You bring a strong background in the global events industry, ideally from a production or event agency. You have a deep understanding of the challenges facing production teams and stay current with industry innovations and emerging technologies.
You can demonstrate experience developing production briefs and concepts, evaluating vendor proposals, and delivering solutions that balance quality, creativity, and commercial impact.
You have successfully managed complex, multi-stakeholder projects and possess strong stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to deliver in demanding environments involving both internal and external partners.
You have worked in international environments and are comfortable with international travel, sometimes at short notice.
Mandarin language skills are a plus, but not essential.
