Kylinda Chilcott, Marketing Director, External Affairs – Connectivity for Good
About the Role
Reporting to the External Affairs Marketing Director, this hands-on role is central to shaping and executing the strategic marketing and communications plans for the GSMA’s global External Affairs Programme – AI for Impact.
You will be responsible for the full delivery lifecycle of marketing and communications activity – from developing strategy through to implementation – across digital platforms, social media, content creation, and industry event representation. This includes working closely with both internal stakeholders (particularly across the External Affairs and Marketing teams) and external partners such as mobile operators, technology vendors, collaborators, and suppliers.
This is a varied, high-impact role ideal for someone who combines creativity and executional excellence with a strong understanding of policy, advocacy, and the mobile industry.
About You
We are seeking an accomplished marketing professional with a proven track record of successfully delivering policy-focused marketing initiatives across digital platforms, social media, publications, and events. You excel at both hands-on execution and high-level strategic contribution—playing a key role in shaping the long-term marketing direction of the External Affairs – AI for Impact programme. You are self-driven, reliable, and capable of working independently without supervision.
You bring the ability to develop and implement impactful marketing delivery plans within constrained budgets, ensuring effective execution and measurable outcomes. Your communication and relationship-building skills are second to none, enabling you to establish trusted, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal teams and external stakeholders.
What You Bring:
• Extensive experience working with or for mobile operators, particularly around their AI and external affairs initiatives, with a strong ability to craft compelling and relevant marketing content.
• A solid understanding of marketing within a policy and advocacy context, ideally with a background that spans both public and private sector engagement.
• Familiarity with an agency-style model, where collaboration across a wide range of marketing disciplines is key to delivering best-in-class outcomes for stakeholders.
• Agility and adaptability to support a diverse mix of projects and initiatives, recognising that priorities and focus areas may evolve over time.
