About the Team
The Conference Content Team is responsible for researching, creating, and delivering compelling agendas for 8 to 10 industry leading events around the world, annually. Events range from 200 up to over 100,000 attendees. The complexity and expectations of these events vary, but one constant remains, the successful delivery of these events is critical to the experience of attendees, exhibitors, and speakers alike.
As a key player in the GSMA's premium portfolio of global events, the Conference Content Team shapes the narrative and purpose of each event. We are responsible for crafting a clear and engaging storyline that resonates with diverse audiences while curating a lineup of world-class speakers. This ensures that each event not only delivers value but is also positioned as an unmissable opportunity within the industry.
The team dynamic varies depending on the event size, ranging from small, tight-knit groups to large teams of 30 to 40 people for large-scale events. Collaboration, creativity, and attention to detail are at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role
As a Conference Content Manager at GSMA, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our events through thorough market research, creative content development, and strategic programme creation. You will be responsible for identifying relevant topics and designing innovative conference formats that engage and inspire audiences.
Leveraging your expertise in the telecoms or technology sectors, you will create commercially viable and compelling programmes that foster valuable networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities for delegates, sponsors, and speakers.
From conceptualisation to execution, you will own your conference's content, working closely with internal teams to ensure its success.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for crafting exceptional event experiences and a proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities:
• Market Research: Conduct in-depth desk and phone research to identify emerging market trends, hot topics, and relevant conference opportunities within the telecoms and technology industries.
• Content Development: Develop high-level conference themes and curate compelling agendas based on a thorough and rigorous research process.
• Innovation & Trend Awareness: Stay ahead of industry trends, including event formats, styles, and technologies. Offer recommendations to the team on how to incorporate innovation into event programming.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (sales, sponsorship, marketing, production, and operations) across regions to deliver events seamlessly and successfully.
• Strategic Alignment: Ensure the content, themes, and positioning of each event align with the broader marketing strategy.
• Team Support: Provide consistent support to the Conference Content Director in executing and delivering all events with a focus on quality and excellence.
• Speaker Management: Manage every aspect of the speaker experience, from the initial invitation, confirmation and preparation stages to managing their on-site experience, ensuring all details are meticulously handled for a smooth and professional execution.
• Onsite Delivery: Ensure the high-quality delivery of the conference onsite, ensuring a seamless experience for all stakeholders involved.
About You
• Proven experience in conference production, with a strong track record of delivering successful events
• Deep understanding of the technology industry, with telecom experience considered a significant advantage
• Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively
• Comfortable presenting to senior executives and key stakeholders, with a professional and polished approach
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to quickly adapt to other software tools as needed
• Strong ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining focus and delivering under tight deadlines
• A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can build positive relationships across departments
• A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a commitment to excellence and attention to detail
