GSMA Technology Department
For over 30 years, the GSMA’s Technology Department has provided technology leadership and standards that ensure mobile networks interwork with each other and with all devices globally. This is done through many specialised Industry Working Groups and other project structures. The fundamental collaboration tool used for all this work is the SharePoint based GSMA Member portal.
Each Working Group is led by a GSMA professional engineer who directs the group and provides subject matter expertise. The specification work is undertaken by volunteers from engineering teams across all the GSMA member companies. There are approximately 1400 GSMA members representing companies from across the world. Membership consists of Mobile Operators, Network Equipment and Device Manufacturers and other organisations supporting the mobile ecosystem.
