Position Summary:
We are seeking an energetic self-starter to join our US investment team as an Investment Associate in Washington DC[1].
The candidate will be primarily responsible for sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, performing due diligence and market research, developing investment theses, and supporting existing portfolio companies. In addition, the candidate will help to advance innovative ecosystem initiatives, including efforts to expand diversity in US FinTech. The Associate role features the chance to hone direct investment skills on cutting-edge deals, work closely with C-suite leaders at exciting fast-growth start-ups, and gain broad exposure to the early-stage venture capital ecosystem.
This individual’s responsibilities will include the following:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute to sourcing and managing the investment pipeline, including representing Flourish at industry-leading events and conferences;
- Drive due diligence and deal execution efforts for prospective investments (e.g., assess business plans; conduct market research; build detailed financial models);
- Evaluate market trends and help to develop new investment themes;
- Support the design and execution of innovative ecosystem initiatives, including efforts to advance diversity and inclusion in US FinTech;
- Facilitate portfolio engagement efforts and post-close performance management;
- Communicate and collaborate internally to advance Flourish’s strategy and mission, and support on a variety of events and projects, as needed.
Education, Experience and Requirements:
- 3-5 years of prior experience at a VC/PE fund, investment bank, management consulting firm, or in a corporate / startup investment role;
- Strategic thinker with outstanding analytical, deal evaluation, and financial modeling skills;
- High-energy and independent self-starter, entrepreneurial spirit, and great teammate;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong networking capabilities;
- Financial services and/or technology domain knowledge strongly preferred;
- Prior demonstrated interest in/experience with advancing diversity and inclusion;
- Comfort with working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, global team;
- Advanced degree preferred.

- This is a full-time, salaried role. The all-in compensation range for this role is $123-167K.
