Clients range from large, fast-growing middle-income countries to IDA countries, small Caribbean states, and one fragile state. Despite immense resources, dynamic societies, and an average annual per capita income of around $4,000, deep inequalities persist in most countries of the region, and nearly a quarter of the population lives in poverty. The Bank’s strategy in LCR focuses on five pillars: • Stimulating growth and improving competitiveness • Reducing poverty and inequality • Ensuring governments and institutions work for the people • Providing a platform to address global issues (climate change, gender, trade, disease, migration) • Reducing risk, whether from extreme weather events, climate change, crime and violence, or other threats Country Unit and Position Context The WBG’s priorities in Chile are: • Supporting the Chilean government in its complex reform agenda • Increasing access to inclusive and quality services • Supporting Chile’s climate-resilient and decarbonized development Duties and Responsibilities Driver Duties: • Drive the office vehicle for authorized personnel transport, mail delivery, and pick up of documents and other items • Operate the vehicle with attention to schedules, traffic, safety, and optimal routes to minimize travel time; ensure compliance with local laws and safety regulations in case of accidents • Receive official staff at the airport and assist with immigration and customs procedures as needed • Greet passengers at designated locations; assist with boarding and unloading; handle luggage and packages • Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of the assigned vehicle; check fuel, oil, water, battery, brakes, lights, tires, etc.; carry out minor repairs and coordinate service visits • Take appropriate action in case of accidents or traffic incidents • Log trips, mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, and other services; coordinate with the Executive Assistant for service appointments and supervise work performed Administrative, Messenger, and Facilities Duties: Under the supervision of the Executive Assistant: • Plan and schedule internal office moves • Assist departments with move preparations • Support tracking, acquisition, and disposal of office assets (equipment, vehicles, furniture) • Assist with the annual inventory of office assets • Perform minor on-site repairs • Make small purchases and urgent pickups from local vendors • Deliver packages and documents between the office and other institutions • Manage office documents including photocopying, binding, scanning, and occasional filing • Support diplomatic pouch operations: prepare and receive shipments as requested • Perform other tasks as needed.
