At the World Bank, a member of the World Bank Group (WBG), you’ll join a diverse, global community working across cultures, disciplines, and borders to address the world’s most pressing development challenges. With 1.2 billion young people reaching working age in the decade ahead, the challenge of job creation has never been greater. Through partnerships across 145 countries and more than 182 offices worldwide, we work with governments, private sector, development partners and other stakeholders to invest in people, strengthen markets, and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions that generate more and better jobs and improve lives. For more information, visit https://www.worldbank.org/en/who-we-are/ibrd The WBG consists of five specialized institutions: The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the International Development Association (IDA), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Regional and Country Unit Context The World Bank Group serves 30 client countries in Latin America and the Caribbean (LCR), ranging from sophisticated middle-income economies to IDA countries, small Caribbean states, and one fragile state. Despite dynamic societies and an average annual per capita income of about $4,000, deep inequalities persist across the Region, with nearly a quarter of people living in poverty. The Group’s institutions—IBRD, IFC, and MIGA—work together to address these challenges through financing, knowledge, and private capital mobilization. IBRD provides loans, guarantees, and advisory services to middle-income and creditworthy low-income countries, helping advance inclusive growth, strengthen institutions, and build resilience through investment and policy-based operations. IFC—the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets—works in more than 100 countries to create markets and opportunities; in fiscal year 2025, IFC committed a record $28.3 billion to private companies and financial institutions in developing countries. MIGA promotes foreign direct investment by offering political risk insurance and credit enhancement guarantees, mitigating risks such as expropriation, breach of contract, currency inconvertibility and transfer restrictions, and war and civil disturbance. In addition to investment and lending, the World Bank Group delivers major advisory and analytical services across LCR. IFC operates a robust private sector advisory program to promote direct investment, build local businesses and financial intermediaries, and improve the business-enabling environment, contributing to poverty reduction. Complementing this, IBRD provides policy advice, technical assistance, and analytic work to support reforms and public investment efficiency, while MIGA’s guarantees help catalyze private solutions in challenging contexts. The Chile Country Office serves as a Joint Representation the IBRD, the IFC and MIGA. This integrated structure supports a dynamic and expanding portfolio across critical sectors, necessitating strong operational capacity. Scope of Work The selected candidate will be assigned to provide general administrative office support to the Country Office team members, as well as tasks associated with the unit’s overall work program for which ad-hoc cross support will be needed. This position works closely with the Executive Assistant under the overall supervision of the Country Manager. As part of the Administrative and Client Support (ACS) team the candidate will: • Coordinate team schedules taking priorities into account, monitoring changes, and communicating the information to appropriate staff, including officials or clients outside the World Bank Group. • Handle incoming and outgoing written verbal communications with clients and Government partners. • Exercise quality enhancement for projects and documents ensuring adherence to departmental, Vice President Unit (VPU) and institutional guidelines. • Maintain accurate and efficient filing (paper and electronic). • Back-up of administrative team colleagues when necessary. • Act as the primary point of contact for a broad network of internal and external contacts, exercise judgment, tact, and discretion in managing inquiries and redirecting them appropriately. • Coordinate and provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support for the team and management, including organizing meetings and a wide range of events, senior official visits, missions, conferences, workshops, retreats, facilitating the submission and review of briefing materials and taking follow-up actions. • Draft, edit, translate, and finalize routine correspondence, memos, and reports in English, applying effective proofreading and grammar skills. • Initiate and coordinate all aspects of the travel schedule for the team, including tickets, transport and hotel reservation. • Oversee reception and all related responsibilities, ensuring efficient and professional front-desk operations. • Coordinate knowledge exchange visits organized by IBRD and, when applicable, IFC, providing seamless logistical support. • Maintain and regularly update databases of key authorities and contacts across both public and private sectors.
