WBG Pioneers, the World Bank Group’s Internship Program, offers undergraduate and postgraduate students a high impact learning experience at the heart of global development. Participants gain hands on experience in a diverse and dynamic environment, contribute fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, and connect with international professionals working to end poverty on a livable planet. The Governance Global Practice supports the Government of Liberia in advancing a broad governance reform agenda spanning public financial management, domestic resource mobilization, and governance in key sectors such as forestry and mining. The work program includes implementation support to the Governance Reform and Accountability Transformation (GREAT) Project, engagement on fiscal and institutional reforms, and strengthening governance arrangements in natural resource sectors. The intern will support coordination, follow-up, and analytical tasks across this portfolio, contributing to effective implementation and sustained engagement with government counterparts and development partners. Duties and Responsibilities Support coordination of governance work program activities, including tracking of actions, timelines, and deliverables Undertake regular follow-up with government counterparts on agreed actions and reform progress Assist in preparation of aide-memoires, briefs, presentations, and mission materials Support engagement on domestic resource mobilization and fiscal governance topics through background research and synthesis Contribute to governance-related work in key sectors (e.g., forestry, mining), including preparation of notes and stakeholder mapping Support organization of workshops, meetings, and stakeholder consultations Facilitate coordination with development partners through preparation of inputs and tracking of joint actions
