For more information, visit: https://www.ifc.org The Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services (MAS) Africa Department is recruiting an Associate Investment Officer (AIO) to join the Manufacturing and Services team, which is responsible for sourcing and executing investment transactions in these sectors. The AIO will be based in Luanda (Angola) and will report to the Regional Industry Manager for Services for Eastern and Southern Africa. Role Responsibilities The AIO will work closely with colleagues in the team, region and in Washington, DC, on business development, transaction execution, portfolio supervision, and client relationship management in manufacturing and services sectors. The responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Support business development by identifying potential investment partners and opportunities based on industry experience, reputation, market potential, financial capability, and strategic fit. • Assess the attractiveness of specific investment opportunities with a strong focus on credit quality and development impact, as a part of the team, and make recommendations to IFC’s management. • Support the execution of loan, equity, and mezzanine financings including processing mandates, conduct due diligence, structuring deals, negotiate terms and documentation, arrange syndications, and process internal approvals. • Work closely across departments to support the development and implementation of relevant sector strategies (including country strategies, SCDs, CPSDs, etc). • Work closely with IFC’s specialists to manage environmental, social, technical, legal, insurance, corporate governance, and other risks in projects and champion IFC’s sustainability offerings to clients. • Handle portfolio management of assigned projects in a timely manner. • Monitor clients’ compliance with the terms of investment agreements, prepare timely supervision reports, identify early warning signs, and, when necessary, formulate/implement strategies for workouts, restructurings or rescheduling. • Provide high quality client service throughout the project cycle from transaction sourcing, execution to supervision.
