Description
The EEC-MSP on water aims to ensure long-term water security for the EEC through engagement and collective action of all key public sector and private stakeholders. The MSP operates through a Steering Committee and three core workstreams focusing on Bulk Water Supply, Demand Management and Efficiency Improvement, and Wastewater Treatment and Reuse.
Deliverables: The MSP Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and facilitating Steering Committee and regular workstream meetings to support the Co-Chairs. They will develop and implement a detailed work programme for the EEC Water MSP, ensuring delivery of tangible project milestones across all three workstreams. In addition, the coordinator will produce regular progress updates, document activities and results for internal and external audiences, and establish a sustainable model, mobilizing financial resources and stakeholder ownership for the EEC-MSP.
Reporting and Coordination: The MSP Coordinator will report directly to 2030 WRG Program Manager located in Washington, D.C. The coordinator will work in close coordination with the secretariat team comprising staff from the World Bank Bangkok Office, the International Finance Corporation Bangkok Office and the 2030 Water Resources Group (WRG).
Location: The position is based in Bangkok, Thailand.
Selection Criteria
• Master’s degree in business administration, management, technology, engineering, natural resource management, economics, or a related field from a reputed accredited institution.
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in executive leadership, project management, or strategic consulting. A minimum of 5 years working with the private sector, driving innovation, digital transformation, or large-scale strategic initiatives is required. While experience in water/natural resource management or sustainability is an advantage, candidates with limited water sector experience are highly encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate a strong track record of leveraging their specific domain expertise (e.g., technology, finance, digital innovation) to solve complex, multi-stakeholder challenges.
• Proven experience working with diverse stakeholders at senior levels, particularly with key Thai Government Ministries, regulatory bodies, financial institutions, multilateral institutions, and large private sector corporations.
• Solid understanding of the political economy, business environment, and regulatory landscape in Thailand. Ability to quickly grasp water policies, strategies, and institutions within the Eastern Economic Corridor context.
• Excellent program management and executive leadership skills, including experience managing complex initiatives and delivering within tight timelines. Proactive and results-focused work style with strong problem-solving capabilities. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relations within internal and external stakeholders. Proven ability to drive innovation, manage digital platforms, or mobilize private capital along with supervisory and organizational skills.
• Native proficiency in Thai and fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is essential. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex analyses, draft original reports, and present to senior stakeholders.
