Tiered Approach
In line with the commitment to safeguard capacity and support personnel already in the Organization, a majority of UNDP UNCDF/UNV vacancies are advertised using a tiered application process whereby:

Background
UN City Copenhagen hosts 10 United Nations organizations that support development and humanitarian operations worldwide. From Copenhagen, resident agencies provide operational support to global programmes through procurement, supply chain management, partnerships, technical expertise, and programme support functions.
The work carried out from UN City Copenhagen contributes to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Communications function supports the visibility and understanding of the work carried out by the resident UN organizations and contributes to strengthening awareness of Copenhagen as an operational hub for the United Nations system.
The Communications Team is a part of UN City Common Services and coordinates digital communication, storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and communication related to the work of the UN globally and that of resident agencies including conferences and institutional initiatives hosted in UN City Copenhagen.
Under the supervision of the Communications Coordinator, the Digital Communications Associate manages digital communication platforms and contributes to the development of digital storytelling products highlighting UN City Copenhagen and the work of resident agencies.
S/he also supports production and dissemination of communication materials for events and meetings, internal to UN as well as external. The Associate will also support coordination of communications related activities, implementation of communication strategy and engage across the UN entities in the UN City.
The role supports the use of data-informed communication practices and emerging technologies including AI to strengthen communication workflows and digital engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support Digital Platform Management
- Manage and continuously optimize UN City Copenhagen digital platforms (website, intranet and social media channels)
- Ensure consistency, quality and alignment across digital channels
- Enable publishing workflows and editorial standards
2. Support Digital Content Production
- Develop and produce digital communication products including multimedia content
- Develop digital storytelling products highlighting UN activities
- Follow the latest social media trends and stay up to date with digital media developments (e.g. emergence of new platforms, changes in existing social media channels).
- Identify opportunities to enhance digital communication formats and processes
3. Support Digital Analytics and Knowledge Insights
- Monitor and analyse digital engagement across platforms
- Produce actionable insights to inform communication strategy and content development
- Support data-informed decisions on communication formats and channels
- Ensure integration of digital tools and AI-enabled workflows
4. Administrative and coordination support
- Provide administration support relating to Communications team activities.
- Support coordination within the team, with Common Services as well as UN agencies.
5. Support knowledge sharing
- Make sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
The Digital Communications Associate reports to the Communications Coordinator.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Secondary education is required. or
- A university degree (Bachelor´s degree) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or any other related field of study will be given due consideration but is not a requirement.
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years (with secondary education) or 3 years (with bachelor’s degree) of progressively responsible experience in Digital Communication.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience managing content management systems such as WordPress, and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Photoshop or similar is an asset.
- Experience in social media platforms and implementing social media strategy is an asset.
- Experience using AI-assisted content production tools is considered an asset.
- Experience in handling administrative tasks is an asset.
- Experience working in an international organization is an asset.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of Danish is an asset
