Background
The South-East and Northwest states of Nigeria is actively pursuing sustainable development and economic growth through strategic partnerships and programmes aligned with both federal initiatives and regional development frameworks. To ensure that this drive thrives and is achievable, the federal government of Nigeria established regional development commissions for the South-East and Northwest as federal bodies to facilitate the socio-economic development of the regions name; South-East Developoemnt Commission (SEDC) and North-West development Commission (NWDC). The federal government of Nigeria took this decision to respond to the agitations of the citizens in the southeast escalated by perceptions centered on demographic pressure, relative deprivation of political power and its derivatives which degenerated into conflicts by armed secessionist groups. While the security challenges posed by this is at par with the complex blend of communal conflicts, farmer-herder conflict, armed banditry and organized crime in the Northwest region, amplified by perceptions of economic exclusion and climate-induced risks, the federal government continues to seek ways to address these challenges. As such, close collaboration between United Nations Development Programes (UNDP), Anambra State, SEDC and NWDC is vital for harmonized planning, implementation, and monitoring of development initiatives. This initiative will be driven by offers developed by United Nations development Programme to assist states be resilient through the Integrated Smart States Programme (ISSP). Hence, UNDP is creating the position of a Programme Analyst that will play a central role in coordinating, analyzing, and advising on programme activities, ensuring alignment with the strategic priorities the federal government, the above-mentioned regional commissions and Anambra State Government.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Conflict & Political Economy Specialist, the Programme Analyst will serve as a technical and strategic liaison between United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), SEDC, NWDC, Anambra State and the federal government. The role involves identifying development opportunities, tracking project implementation, coordinating stakeholders, and providing analytical support to ensure the effective design, execution, and monitoring of development programmes in the region and by extension Anambra State. The Analyst will be responsible for the following specific functions and tasks:

The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
